MEL is pleased to announce that Mr Simon Ashby-Rudd has been appointed as Corporate Adviser. Simon has over 30 years of banking and advisory experience to the Energy Sector, including most recently with Standard Bank of South Africa where he built and ran the Oil, Gas and Renewables team that focused on funding the sector across sub Saharan Africa. Simon will be leading the company’s efforts to bring in new capital to the company to accelerate the development of our asset portfolio at this exciting time as investor interest in the area increases.
Simon said: “ After seeing the under explored nature the onshore in Namibia, MEL has focused on the Owamba Basin in north east of the country and for the last 2 years adopted a pragmatic and low cost approach to quantify its potential. This work has identified the material potential of our assets and at the same time interest in the area has grown due to the discovery of a material working petroleum system by Reconnaissance Energy Africa during its ongoing drilling campaign on its blocks to the east of MEL. The company therefore now wants to accelerate the appraisal of its assets and we will be considering all options to raise the required funds to do so.“
