On May 5th, 2021, our neighbour Recon Africa has announced to have spudded its second strat well, according to company’s operating plan. This well, named 6-1, is drilling to a target depth of 3,800 meters (12,500 feet).
“The 6-1 well is designed to evaluate the petroleum systems discovered in the first well (6-2) in an area of maximum thickness.”-says Recon Africa.
MEL follows with great interest the drilling updates of this second test well. The drilling location is approximately 200 km away from MEL’s licence.
